Sikhs in England was formed to celebrate 300 years of Sikhism nationally in the year 2000 and its contribution to British society to date. It raises awareness among British Sikhs nationally of opportunities to serve the

whole community through public life, governance and voluntary effort. It provides a vehicle for the Sikh community to be accessed and contribute to national consultation and decision making processes, and it
assists in the mutual understanding of various religions, cultures and values.
